NASA Reveals Closer Look At Pan, Saturn's Moon

ONTARIO, OH - Of course, a moon orbiting the ringed planet would have a ring of its own. NASA gives us a closer look at Saturn’s moon pan.

It's named for the half-man, half-goat Greek god of the wild. These two images are from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft.

They show the spacecraft's perspective changing as it passed within 15-thousand-three-hundred miles of pan earlier this month.

This was Cassini’s closest-ever encounter with the icy orb. It gives scientists and star gazers a better picture of the tiny moon orbiting Saturn.
